Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby seeks a Fuel Business Operations Lead who will drive the definition and execution of the fuel operating model within a fast-paced programme.

You will integrate across RRSL, deliver business operations actions, and support cost forecasting and planning tools. A degree in a relevant field and strong stakeholder management are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Broad, general knowledge and experience of Project Management and/or business management.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage relationships.
• A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to deliver on commitments, manage competing priorities, and make effective use of time and resources.
• Experience of managing complex programmes and associated risks, with the confidence to lead through uncertainty, evolving requirements, and changing scope during early project phases.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, adapting to ambiguity, shifting priorities, and evolving programme direction as projects scale and mature.
• Experience with project management or business management processes, systems and toolsets such as Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager (ARM), and SAP would be advantageous.
• Degree in a relevant project management, engineering, or business discipline, or equivalent professional experience and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Integrate across the functional areas of RRSL to ensure a cohesive programme that delivers the businesses requirements.
• Delivering actions as part of the business operations workstream which includes a variety of tasks including, developing processes, establishing our operating model, governance, adapting our business systems.
• Act as the focal point for all aspects related to these assigned packages of work.
• Provide input to financial management processes, including estimating and managing cost forecasts.
• Support resource and operating cost forecasting cycles utilising historical data, scenario modelling and business acumen to inform the forecast.
• Maintain, develop & communicate the plan in the designated planning tool sets (both P6, DevOps and SAP).
• Support the Business Operations Manager by providing accurate and timely data, tools and problem solving techniques to allow for robust business decision making.
• Developing materials to support various internal and external customer reviews.
• When necessary, deputise for Business Operations Manager and represent the department, covering both internal and external reviews or meetings.
