Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Site Maintenance Operator to join our frontline operations team at the Oxford Sewage Treatment Works. You’ll perform planned maintenance, operate and clean equipment, and respond to reactive faults to ensure uninterrupted wastewater treatment and environmental safety.

During your initial training you’ll work 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, then move to a rotating shift pattern including early, day, late and night shifts with additional pay.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and prepared to become part of a fantastic team.
• Desire to learn from those around you and approach tasks with a can-do attitude.
• Able to respond quickly to fixing faults, and identify best solutions first time.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
• Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
• Full UK driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards to improve plant resilience.
• Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to maintain on-site operational and health and safety standards.
• Attending to reactive jobs following plant and equipment failure.
• Keeping sites clean and tidy and undertaking safety and security checks.
• Always working safely and complying with Health and Safety guidelines and procedures.
