AWD online is seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to support people at high risk of domestic abuse across the Black Country. This frontline role involves risk assessment, safety planning and advocacy across multi-agency networks, with trauma-informed practice at its core.

You will manage casework, coordinate tailored support, and provide one-to-one and group sessions. An IDVA qualification or direct DV experience is required, with training offered for the right candidate;

Qualifications

• Must have IDVA qualification and/or direct experience in domestic or sexual violence
• Relevant Level 3 qualification or training in health and social care or equivalent
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults and children, including safeguarding
• Knowledge of domestic abuse dynamics, risk assessment and safeguarding practices

Responsabilités

• Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: assess needs and develop tailored safety plans
• Crisis Intervention and Casework: provide person-centred support, advice, information and advocacy
• Referrals and Support Access: take referrals and connect people with services
• Multi-Agency Advocacy: work with partner agencies and safeguarding forums
• MARAC Reporting and Representation: prepare reports for MARAC and present cases when required
• Court and Legal Support: guide service users through housing, legal and welfare options
• One-to-One and Group Support: support understanding of domestic abuse and regain control
• Safeguarding and Records: escalate concerns and maintain accurate records
