Job summary

NERAMS is seeking an Emergency Care Assistant to support clinically qualified practitioners in delivering safe, high‑quality pre‑hospital care, responding to medical and trauma emergencies and handling patient transport.

You will drive NERAMS vehicles under emergency, urgent and non-emergency conditions, assist with emergency scene management, and maintain accurate documentation and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under supervision of a clinically qualified practitioner.
• Ability to undertake patient handling and manual handling safely.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required due to the nature of the role.
• Appropriate driving qualifications and authorisation to drive NERAMS vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Support clinicians in safe pre-hospital patient care.
• Respond to emergency, urgent and patient transport calls.
• Drive NERAMS vehicles in emergency, urgent and normal driving conditions.
• Assist with emergency clinical scene management under direction of a qualified practitioner.
• Complete patient report forms and documentation accurately.
