Job summary

Thames Valley Police is recruiting a Frontline Digital Forensic Technician for a fixed term/secondment from 03 November 2026 to 31 December 2027, based at Milton Keynes Police Station. The role involves early examination of exhibits using a triage process to identify those suitable for further analysis, potentially handling distressing material.

The successful candidate will have practical hardware/software knowledge, numeracy and literacy skills, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer hardware and software.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out initial triage of exhibits to determine best course of action.
• Identify exhibits suitable for further analysis through a comprehensive triage process.
• Produce accurate contemporaneous records with minimal supervision.
• Work with the Digital Forensic Services team and other units as required.
• Travel to different locations across the Force to undertake assignments.
• Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines.
