Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Child and Family Support Worker to join the Children's Reception Team in Havant. You will handle referrals, gather information, and contribute to safeguarding decisions while working in a fast-paced contact centre environment.

You'll collaborate with families, professionals and partner agencies to ensure timely support and positive outcomes for children and families across Hampshire.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, young people and families in a helping role.
• Understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills; ability to handle sensitive conversations.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to referrals and requests for support from professionals, families and the public.
• Gather, review and record information to support screening and decisions.
• Identify needs and risks using a child-centred approach and make safeguarding recommendations.
• Build effective relationships with families and partner agencies to enable timely access to services.
• Provide a professional, responsive service with accurate records and compliant with policies.
