Job summary

EY is seeking an innovative Frontier AI Assistant Director in Glasgow to identify, shape, and scale emerging AI opportunities. You will work with service lines, sectors, alliances, and innovation teams to connect client needs with new technologies and drive initiatives from experimentation to capability development.

You will lead efforts in trusted models, AI‑native software delivery, and enterprise knowledge systems, translating technical advances into business value and scalable capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, AI, machine learning, product development, solution architecture, technical consulting, or related technology disciplines.
• Hands-on experimentation, prototyping, or building with emerging technologies as part of an ongoing learning practice.
• Experience leading complex technology initiatives spanning technical, business, and stakeholder considerations.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and translating them into business value, technical solutions, or new capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor developments across AI to identify emerging capabilities, market signals, and opportunities relevant to clients and firm strategy.
• Build relationships across service lines, sectors, alliances, regions, and external ecosystems to understand evolving needs and technology opportunities.
• Identify, shape, and lead Frontier AI initiatives that connect emerging technologies with client challenges and strategic priorities.
• Continuously experiment with emerging technologies to develop first‑hand understanding of capabilities, limitations, and potential applications.
• Design and build experiments, prototypes, and proofs‑of‑concepts to validate opportunities and accelerate learning.
• Assess opportunities across business value, technical feasibility, enterprise readiness, risk, and adoption potential.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to validate, refine, and advance new capabilities.
