Job summary

Medidata Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Frontend Staff Engineer (React) to join our CTMS team in a hybrid role based in London, with three on-site days per week as per policy.

You will collaborate with global teams to deliver SaaS solutions on AWS, mentor engineers, and drive code quality through TDD/BDD. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software product development, strong React/TypeScript expertise, and experience in microservices and cloud-native applications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with React/TypeScript in production SaaS apps.
• Strong understanding of microservices and cloud-based web applications.
• Experience with data warehouse concepts and modern analytics tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Propose solutions to complex business problems and translate them to technology.
• Provide accurate impact analysis, technical assessment and documentation.
• Define and advocate industry standard engineering practices for the team.
• Lead product delivery in collaboration with Engineering management and Architecture groups.

• Mentor Senior & App Engineer levels and participate in code reviews to improve quality.

Location: This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.

Our Team:

You will work on Medidata's next generation of SaaS-based clinical trial management applications, deployed on AWS and you will play an important role in developing our new platform. Our philosophy here is that if you have a strong foundation in application engineering and a team-first mindset, we will invest in training you on our platform technologies.

Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will join our Medidata Study Experience team focusing on our CTMS solution:

We follow a hybrid working model (3 days in office) and base location is Hammersmith, London.

What you will do:

• Propose solutions to complex business problems and translate them to technology.
• Provide accurate impact analysis, technical assessment and documentation.
• Define and advocate industry standard engineering practices for the team.
• Work closely with the Engineering management and Architecture groups in leading product delivery.
• Collaborate in troubleshooting the production issues and provide possible workarounds and solutions promptly.
• Mentor colleagues at Senior & App Engineer level; engage in code review to improve code quality and promote TDD/BDD approach.
• Collaborate with diverse and globally distributed team.

Who you are:

• Experience with a data warehouse like Snowflake, Redshift, or Spark.
• Passionate about software product development.
• Experience programming in React/TypeScript.
• Experience working in a microservice ecosystem and developing cloud-based web applications.
• Experience working with cloud technologies like AWS.
• Experience in DevOps technologies like Github actions, terraform or similar.
• Knowledge of basic security concepts, such as authentication, authorization, and auditing.
• Typically requires 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience from on commercial B2B / Enterprise SaaS offerings.
