Job summary

Modo Energy is scaling a global frontend team in London and beyond. We are building a polished UI across a shared TypeScript/React/Next.js codebase, with an internal UI library and design system to ensure consistency across products.

You’ll ship across Terminal, Data, Ko, and Modelling squads, owning features from design to production while collaborating with energy analysts and data scientists. Hybrid work with strong compensation and equity await top performers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience with TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Experience with MUI or a similar component library.
• Strong testing practice with Jest and Cypress or Playwright.
• Proficient with Git, Docker, CI/CD workflows, and monorepo structures (Turborepo, Yarn Workspaces).
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and a good eye for UI/UX design.
• Fast learner with autonomy to make design and shipping decisions.

Responsibilities

• Shape the frontend monorepo technical direction to scale with the team and product.
• Design and build components in the internal UI library based on MUI for reuse.
• Build high-performance, low-latency interfaces that handle live market data.
• Write well-tested code (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) and document review processes.
• Balance shipping new features with maintenance and performance work.
• Collaborate with design, energy analysts, and data scientists to bridge design and engineering.
• Tackle backend/infrastructure tasks when needed, including API changes and pipelines.
