Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality providing customer service to a wide range of clients.
  • Experience leading/supervising in a catering environment.

A client of ours - a thriving society of barristers, situated on a large estate of historic buildings and contemporary facilities in central London, is looking for a Front of House Supervisor.

Role Overview:

To supervise lunch operations in the hall and offer supervisory support in the planning, preparation, and running of events. Ensure excellent service is provided by waiting staff to our client, Members, Benchers, and external clients.

You:

  • Experience in hospitality, providing excellent customer service to diverse clientele
  • Experience in managing events from small to large scale, possibly in unique venues
  • Experience leading or supervising teams within catering environments
  • Motivated, proactive, with a can-do attitude, demonstrating honesty and integrity
  • Basic IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Willingness to learn and understand the protocols of an established institution
  • Passionate about people and service
  • Attention to detail and high standards of work
  • Confident communicator, capable of developing positive relationships
  • Flexible in working hours as required

The Role:

  • Delegate and supervise team setup and operations for morning meetings, lunch, committee setups, and evening events
  • Assist FOH Management with administrative tasks: staffing, dietary maps, briefing docs, equipment lists
  • Coordinate with laundry services for weekly requirements
  • Supervise small dinners and receptions up to 100 guests as needed
  • Brief and supervise waiting staff, ensuring dietary and allergen info is communicated
  • Organize and book agency staff for lunch and events in consultation with Event Operations Managers
  • Conduct monthly FOH stock takes and report findings
  • Assist in reporting maintenance issues
  • Hold regular meetings with hospitality staff to ensure wellbeing
  • Build rapport with team and agency staff
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as directed by management

Specification:

  • 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (includes a one-hour paid lunch break)
