About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Head Barista to lead our coffee team and deliver an exceptional cafe experience. This role combines hands-on coffee preparation with team leadership, quality control, training, and customer engagement.

As Head Barista, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards in coffee brewing and presentation, supporting and developing the barista team, and ensuring our café runs smoothly and efficiently during service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily barista operations, ensuring consistency and quality in every cup.

• Train, mentor, and support new and existing baristas to uphold coffee standards.

• Maintain espresso equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues.

• Monitor coffee stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management.

• Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the coffee bar area.

• Work closely with the manager to develop seasonal drinks and improve the menu.

• Foster a positive, motivated team culture and set an example in professionalism and hospitality.

• Handle customer queries or complaints related to coffee with confidence and care.

• Uphold health & safety and food hygiene regulations at all times.

• Establish and maintain partnerships with guest coffee roasters.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• 2+ years experience as a barista, with at least 1 year in a senior or leadership role.

• Advanced knowledge of espresso-based drinks, milk texturing, manual brewing

methods, and coffee equipment.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.

• Passion for specialty coffee and delivering excellent customer service.

• Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.

• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
