Job summary

Accenture in London is seeking a Front End Engineering Team Lead at Consultant L9 to drive modern web platforms and design systems across client engagements.

You will lead cross‑functional squads, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers, designers and data scientists to deliver scalable, performance‑driven experiences. Generative AI will be embedded to accelerate development and optimise outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years' front-end web development with TypeScript/JavaScript tooling.
  • 2+ years' experience leading engineering teams or squads and owning delivery outcomes.
  • Experience working with Design, QA, Cloud, PM/PO/Delivery.
  • Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks (React/Next.js) and state management.
  • Hands-on use of Generative AI in engineering workflows and products.

We’re especially looking for individuals who are experts in front-end engineering for mobile or web platforms, with deep experience in modern frameworks and performance optimisation. You’ll bring hands‑on experience with Generative AI technologies and understand how to apply them to enhance product experiences. Consulting experience is also key - you’ll be comfortable engaging with clients, shaping solutions and driving strategic outcomes.

As a Front‑End Engineering Team Lead, you will

Job Qualifications

We are looking for experience in the following:

  • 4+ years' front-end web development experience using TypeScript/JavaScript (with Node.js-based tooling or similar)
  • 2+ years' experience leading engineering teams or squads, including setting technical direction, guiding code quality and owning delivery outcomes
  • Experience working closely with other disciplines (Design, QA, Cloud, PM/PO/Delivery)
  • Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks and libraries (React or similar, ideally including meta‑frameworks such as Next.js), including state management and component‑driven development
  • Hands‑on use of Generative AI in your engineering workflows (e.g. AI coding assistants and agentic tooling) and in the products you build, such as LLM‑powered features
  • Experience building, maintaining and scaling design systems and component libraries, working closely with designers to keep them consistent
  • Experience integrating front‑end applications with backend and cloud services through GraphQL and RESTful APIs
  • Extensive experience in agile environments for digital product creation
  • Broad experience in modern front‑end engineering practices across web and/or mobile, including:
  • Front‑end architecture patterns (e.g. component‑driven design, micro‑frontends, server‑side rendering and static generation)
  • Performance and scalability, including optimising Core Web Vitals
  • Security best practices, secure coding and privacy awareness
  • Unit, integration and end‑to‑end automated testing (e.g. Jest, Playwright or Cypress)
  • CI/CD setup and maintenance
  • Debugging and complex problem‑solving
  • Accessibility best practices
  • Client‑facing or leadership consulting experience, including engaging stakeholders, shaping solutions and turning business goals into technical outcomes
  • Confident articulating technology and engineering trends to clients and teams
  • Track record of improving delivery speed and quality through modern engineering practices (e.g. trunk‑based development, feature flags, automated quality gates and DORA metrics)
Set yourself apart:
  • Cloud Platform experience (AWS/GCP/Azure/Vercel)
  • Experience with cross‑platform mobile frameworks (e.g. React Native or Flutter)
  • Experience with experimentation and progressive delivery (e.g. A/B testing and feature‑flagging platforms)
  • Presented your work at an event or conference
  • Experience developing short & long‑term plans for a team's growth and transformation
  • Track record of engaging with senior leadership as a trusted advisor
