Job summary

Cheshire East Council’s Integrated Front Door team is the first point of contact for concerns about a child’s welfare. Social workers assess referrals, conduct initial enquiries and work with multi‑agency partners to ensure the right help is provided at the right time.

This role requires experience in a statutory children’s social care setting, registration with Social Work England, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a statutory children’s social care setting.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills to manage complex situations.
• Front door experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the initial point of contact for concerns about a child’s welfare.
• Triages incoming referrals and undertakes initial enquiries.
• Works closely with multi-agency partners to make informed decisions.
• Ensures children and families receive the right support and intervention at the right time.
