Job summary

Langdon Hills Medical Centre is seeking a receptionist/care navigator on a part-time basis (approximately 20-30 hours per week). You will greet patients, manage bookings, maintain records, and liaise with clinicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role requires excellent communication, privacy, and IT/admin skills. You will work with a friendly team, supporting patient access and confidentiality, with training on GDPR and local procedures.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a clear telephone manner.
• Experience of working with the general public and maintaining confidentiality.
• Strong IT and administration skills with the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct all patients.
• Book, amend and cancel appointments using the practice clinical system.
• Handle patient queries sensitively and confidentially.
• Maintain accurate patient records including scanning and filing medical documents.
• Liaise with clinicians, nurses and colleagues as required.
• Accept, issue and hand out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
• Deal with requests for information and managing problems and complaints.
• Advise patients of practice procedures; answer the telephone, promptly.
