Job summary

Mariam Ademe seeks a French-speaking Practice Manager to support expansion in the UK. You will oversee a small team of accountants, manage statutory and tax submissions, and advise clients on local accounting requirements and best practices.

Reporting to a Partner in France, you will lead client service, supervise apprentices, and contribute to business development while ensuring UK compliance. ACCA/ACA and Sage Line 50 experience are essential.

Qualifications

• ACCA or ACA qualification with at least five years’ experience in an accounting practice or professional services firm.
• Experience with limited companies, sole traders, SATR filings, VAT and CIS.
• Familiarity with French accounting principles and standards.
• Hands-on experience with Sage Line 50 to prepare management accounts and outsourced bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Advising and servicing clients on a daily basis.
• Attending client meetings and finance reviews.
• Managing the in-house team and apprentices.
• Preparing and reviewing quarterly management and annual statutory accounts for various entities.
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts and VAT returns.
• Preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns including CGT, IHT and CIS.

It is now expanding its operations in the UK and is seeking a French-speaking Practice Manager to support this growth.

In this role, you will oversee a small team of accountants while driving the firm's development in the UK market. As a qualified accountant, you will be responsible for managing clients' statutory and tax submissions, as well as advising both existing and prospective clients on local accounting requirements and best practices.

You will report to a Partner based in France.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Advising and servicing clients on a daily basis

• Attending monthly and other ad-hoc finance meetings with clients

• Managing the in-house team and junior apprentices

• Preparing / reviewing quarterly management and annual statutory accounts (both limited company and charity formats)

• Preparing / reviewing management accounts

• Preparing / reviewing quarterly VAT returns

• Preparing / reviewing Self Assessment Tax Returns, including CGT, IHT and CIS

Your profile:

• Bilingual proficiency in French and English

• ACCA or ACA qualified, with at least five years of experience within an accounting practice or professional services firm

• Strong, well-rounded practice background, including work with limited companies, sole traders, SATR filings, VAT and CIS matters

• Familiarity with French accounting principles and standards

• Practical understanding of payroll processes and related compliance

• Hands-on experience with Sage Line 50 (or a similar accounting system) to prepare management accounts and maintain clients' bookkeeping on a fully outsourced basis

• Excellent communication skills, enabling clear and professional interaction, in person, by email or by phone, with a diverse client base in French and English

• Supportive, patient and detail-oriented approach to coaching and training apprentices and junior team members across all areas of client work

• Business development mindset, with the ability to contribute to expanding the firm's client portfolio
