Job summary

ukme is seeking a French-speaking Financial Accountant in Greater London to oversee accounting activities and ensure timely management accounts.

You will supervise staff, manage bank relations, complete statutory reporting and budgets, and collaborate with the French finance team to maintain accurate ledgers.

The role requires French GAAP experience, ACCA/CIMA pursuit, strong Excel skills, and a disciplined, confidentiality-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
• Familiar with French Chart of Accounts (French GAAP).
• Minimum education to A Level.
• Pursuing ACCA/CIMA qualifications or qualified by experience.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong numerical accuracy.
• Ability to produce fiscal reports.
• Familiarity with financial systems (e.g., Workday Financials).

Responsibilities

Job description

French Speaking Financial Accountant Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising members of staff (A/P clerk and Account Assistant-Management Accountant).
• Making sure the management accounts are prepared timely and variances explained.
• Approving bank transfers and liaising with banks when necessary.
• Carry out weekly bank reconciliations for all accounts (including ad hoc bank transaction journals).
• Prepare monthly fund requests.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis (payroll / tax acts...).
• Assisting French Accountant in preparing CT returns and the annual statutory accounts.
• Preparing of Annual budgets in line with departmental requirements.
• Employees/supplier contracts: Keep updated contracts in file.
• Payroll administration (liaising with Cabinet Denjean ref. monthly payslips + annual staff health insurance returns + update social security annual rates.
• Responsible for the administration of French Companies; paying invoices, intercompany reconciliation, liaising with French Accountants in preparing the annual accounts.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure compliance with company policies and internal financial controls.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in a similar accounting or finance role: Experience in the French Chart of Accounts. (French GAAP)
• Minimum education to A Level standard.
• Currently pursuing ACCA/CIMA qualifications/ Qualified by Experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong numerical accuracy.
• Ability to produce fiscal reports.
• Familiarity with financial systems. (ex. Workday fins).
