Main Purpose of Job:

The French Canadian Reviewer is responsible for the overall quality of their language at an account level. This role involves writing and reviewing linguistic content in French Canadian to ensure accuracy for multimedia platforms. The reviewer will also act as a cultural ambassador, producing localized content and identifying cultural issues, suggesting relevant adaptations for target markets.

The ideal candidate has a background in journalism or similar, with creative writing skills and keen attention to detail. Passion for music, film, tech, and familiarity with iOS and Mac OS devices are also desired.

Main Duties:

• Localize, translate, and adapt content across various categories, adhering to style guides and guidelines.
• Create new copy for multimedia products such as music, TV, app store apps, video on-demand, and gaming services.
• Perform linguistic reviews of their own and others' work across content types.
• Copy-edit and fact-check content for accuracy.
• Conduct Localization QA (LQA) testing on live platform content.
• Research local content trends, terminology, and best practices.
• Transcribe spoken content like lyrics.
• Report on media and content assets.
• Review linguistic assessments, create training materials, and ensure team training on terminology and style.
• Collaborate with global teams via virtual meetings and emails to calibrate terminology and style, understand market trends, and meet project needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in journalism, copywriting, or media content editing, with proof of writing samples.
• Experience in translation and localization of multimedia content.
• Ability to identify issues quickly and make sound judgments.
• Knowledge of music artists, TV, cinema, gaming, and pop culture.
• Ability to own the language market and make confident linguistic decisions.
• Highly detail-oriented with multitasking and deadline management skills.
• Native in French Canadian and fluent in English.
• Strong computer literacy; knowledge of iOS/macOS is a plus.
• Capable of typing proficiently in native language using a local (English) keyboard.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Team-oriented and comfortable in a multicultural environment.
