Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a French-speaking Apprentice Accountant for a permanent position. This role offers a unique blend of responsibilities, including monthly bookkeeping, payroll processing, and acting as a key contact for clients. Qualifications

Halliday Marx has partnered with an excellent accounting practice to recruit a French-speaking Apprentice Accountant on a permanent basis.

4 days working and 1 study day per week.

Duties
  • Monthly bookkeeping & payroll
  • Acting as a major point of contact for clients alongside the Business Line Manager
  • Responding quickly to, and anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed
  • Company incorporation and setup (including UK bank account opening, employment contracts, employee benefits)
  • Building sustainable external and internal client relationships
  • Performing Company Secretary duties for clients
  • Using Sage 50, QuickBooks Online, or other cloud-based solutions to maintain books and produce reports
  • Preparing trial balance, profit & loss, balance sheet, and other reports
  • Processing monthly payrolls, including general payroll queries and related issues
  • Preparing HMRC-related returns, including monthly PAYE/NI submissions and quarterly VAT returns
  • Admin and any other ad-hoc duties as required
Requirements
  • Fluent in French
  • Graduate with an Accounting degree or AAT Level 4 Qualified
  • Excellent double-entry bookkeeping, payroll, and organisational skills
