Job summary

PSP Worldwide Logistics Ltd in Fareham is seeking an experienced Freight Operator to join our busy freight forwarding team. This on-site role requires hands-on freight forwarding expertise and the ability to hit the ground running.

You will manage import/export shipments, obtain carrier rates, prepare customer quotations, book sea/air/road freight, apply Incoterms, and handle documentation, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Experience in Operations Management and day-to-day coordination of freight activities or logistics processes.
• Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to handle enquiries, manage expectations, and resolve issues effectively.
• Practical knowledge of Freight operations and Supply Chain Management, including documentation, customs processes, and shipment tracking.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling data, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work on-site in Fareham, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Proficiency with logistics or ERP systems and general IT tools (e.g., MS Office); familiarity with bespoke freight software is an advantage.
• Relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain; a related vocational qualification or industry training is beneficial.

Role Description

We're looking for an experienced Freight Operator to join our busy freight forwarding team.

And to be clear from the outset - this is not a trainee or entry-level role.

We're looking for someone who already understands freight forwarding in practice and can hit the ground running.

You should have hands-on experience of:

• Managing import and/or export shipments

Quoting and Incoterms are fundamental to this role.

We need someone who can take a customer enquiry, understand what is required, obtain the appropriate rates, produce a commercially sound quotation and then manage the shipment through to delivery.
