Job description

We are actively seeking freight forwarding and aviation shipping professionals for a new role as a Freight Operations Co-ordinator near Castle Donington, Derbyshire.

Client Details

Our client is a global leader in the shipping industry, with offices across Germany, Spain, the USA, and the Far East. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment to provide logistics solutions for major industrial, retail, and FMCG clients, focusing on air freight, AOG, sea freight, and road freight that are cost-effective and time-sensitive.

Job Description

As a Freight Forwarder, you will report to the Freight Branch Manager daily. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing freight import and export bookings, including pricing, quotations, shipping, and customs documentation.
  2. Handling operational and transportation documents such as bookings, BLs, pre-advices, and loading confirmations.
  3. Nominating carriers, hauliers, shipping lines, airlines, and GSAs in line with rates, OTIF targets, customer requirements, and INCOTerms.
  4. Preparing additional customs documentation like ISF, COO, and clearance documents to facilitate international freight movement.
  5. Conducting customer rate analysis, monitoring allocations, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  6. Building and maintaining relationships to deliver high-quality customer service tailored to clients' business needs.
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience in freight forwarding for both import and export, with skills including:

  1. 1-2 years of relevant experience in air, sea, or road freight forwarding, or a recent graduate aiming to enter the logistics industry.
  2. Experience with pricing, quotations, and planning customer deliveries across different freight modes.
  3. Desirable experience with customs compliance.
  4. Excellent customer service skills.
  5. Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
  6. Ability to commute daily to Castle Donington, Derbyshire.
