BRIEF OVERVIEW:
We currently have a vacancy within DSV Road's Fareham location for Operations, Channel Islands Imports/Exports.

Main purpose of Job:
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the successful candidate will manage customer requirements for the safe and efficient transport of cargo to and from the Channel Islands, ensuring compliance with DSV's procedures and legal standards, including Health and Safety. Based in Fareham and working within a close team, the role involves processing export and import bookings, liaising with shipping companies, customs, and other DSV offices to ensure smooth freight transport. Knowledge of freight forwarding, international shipping, and customs clearance is advantageous.

Key Tasks:

1. Communicate professionally with customers to fulfill quotations and traffic requirements as per booking instructions.
2. Liaise with DSV and agent offices in the UK and abroad, reporting discrepancies or special requirements.
3. Ensure compliance with legislation in all activities.
4. Operate within operational procedures and statutory requirements, maintaining a safe working environment.
5. Arrange transport with approved hauliers, confirm equipment availability, and negotiate prices to optimize costs.
6. Prepare accurate documentation for loading, unloading, and shipping departments promptly.
7. Handle general administrative tasks such as invoicing, filing, queries, and claims, ensuring cost checks as required.
8. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders via various channels.
9. Plan collections and deliveries to meet customer needs efficiently, utilizing resources effectively.
10. Stay informed of transport and customs regulations to ensure statutory compliance.
