Job description

Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarder

Field-based / remote Business Development Manager required for a freight forwarding company in the UK. This company specializes in Ocean freight, with additional services in Air freight and Road freight. The role covers the North of England, ideally based around Greater Manchester or Yorkshire.

This is a remote role, working from home and meeting clients regularly. You will have weekly meetings with both new and repeat clients.

Salary and Benefits: £40-50k basic + bonus + car allowance + laptop + mobile

The Role

You will be the company's face within your region, booking meetings, developing pipeline strategies, and focusing on seasonal and regional trends. Your goal is to win new clients and expand existing accounts, particularly in container bookings and freight space. The role involves networking and securing meetings across the North of England.

Experience and Requirements

• Self-motivated and able to work independently in your region.
• Capable of designing strategies, opening doors for meetings, and securing bookings.
• Understanding of the freight forwarding/logistics market in the region.
• Self-starter with the ability to drive.

Additional Details

• Remote/field-based role, North of England (preferably Greater Manchester or Yorkshire).
• Laptop and mobile provided.
• Car allowance of £300-£400 per month.
• Basic salary £40-50k.
• Bonus paid every 6 months (~£2,500 per 6 months, £5,000 annually).
