Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take complete ownership of a £750,000, two-floor commercial fit-out project in Cheltenham. As the sole on-site leader you will drive the works from setup to handover, manage client and subcontractor relationships, enforce RAMS and site inductions, and maintain high-spec finishes.

A proven track record on similar scopes, strong communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing commercial fit-out projects up to £1M+ as a standalone Site Manager.
• DBS Enhanced check required for site access.
• Experience with high-spec interior finishes and subcontractor management.
• Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Site Leadership: direct point of contact for clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, managing day-to-day operations independently.
• Programme & Logistics: manage site logistics, control sequence of works, track progress against the master programme to meet deadlines.
• Health, Safety & Environment: enforce robust site safety, conduct inductions, manage RAMS, ensure compliance.
• Quality Control: inspect subcontractor works to maintain high finishes and resolve snags early.
• Cost & Supply Chain: work with commercial team to monitor variations, materials and subcontractor labour.

As the sole, standalone leader on site, you will drive the project from setup through to handover—ensuring works are delivered safely, strictly on programme, and to exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Leadership: Act as the direct point of contact for clients, sub-contractors, and internal stakeholders, managing day-to-day operations independently.


• Programme & Logistics: Manage site logistics, control sequence of works, and track progress against the master programme to ensure deadlines are met.


• Health, Safety & Environment: Enforce robust site safety protocols, conduct daily inductions, manage RAMS, and maintain compliance standards.


• Quality Control: Inspect sub-contractor works continuously to ensure high-grade finishes and eliminate snagging items early.


• Cost & Supply Chain: Work closely with the commercial team to monitor site variations, materials, and subcontractor labor resources.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven track record managing commercial fit-out projects up to £1M+ as a standalone Site Manager.


• Valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential due to site access requirements).


• Valid SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold Card, and First Aid at Work.


• Strong background in managing sub-contractors, trade packages, and high-spec interior finishes.


• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
