Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced freelance Site Agent to support a major water treatment project in Totton, Hampshire. You will assist the Project Manager from ECI through construction, commissioning and handover, delivering works safely, on time and to the required quality.

The role involves coordinating concrete and earthworks, pipework, interfaces, and subcontractors, maintaining records, and reporting progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least three years' experience as a Site Agent on civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete construction and water-retaining structures.
• Experience coordinating civil, structural, mechanical and pipework interfaces.
• Understanding NEC contract terms, early warnings and compensation events.
• CSCS card and SMSTS certification preferred.
• Degree/HNC/HND in civil engineering or construction management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the project delivery strategy and lookahead programmes.
• Manage day-to-day site activities and supervise subcontractors.
• Coordinate reinforced concrete works, including foundations, bases, slabs and water-retaining structures.
• Coordinate earthworks, excavations, drainage and temporary works.
• Oversee underground and above-ground pipework installations and interfaces.
• Monitor health, safety and environmental performance on site.
• Liaise with design teams, supply chain and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Assist with commissioning, snagging and handover documentation.
