The Senior Site Manager has overall responsibility for a specific site, typically a large-scale project. They are the construction leader on the ground, managing the daily supervision of the construction site. Responsibilities include monitoring site preparation before project launch and overseeing safe and efficient site operations throughout construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in compiling the initial programme and maintain awareness of weekly targets.
  2. Plan and oversee site setup, ensuring facilities are in place before project launch.
  3. Manage relationships with subcontractors onsite.
  4. Ensure adherence to HSEQS protocols on sites.
  5. Maintain quality control procedures.
  6. Ensure TWR is in place and up to date.
  7. Monitor onsite energy and waste data.
  8. Implement an efficient registration system for individuals entering and leaving the site.
  9. Flag issues with Contract Management/Commercial Teams affecting project delivery, including materials, schedules, resources, H&S, costs, or delivery.
  10. Demonstrate strong people management skills.
  11. Possess knowledge of good industrial relations practices.
  12. Handle conflicting priorities and difficult stakeholders, especially subcontractors.
  13. Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, adapting style as needed.
  14. Manage subcontractor supervision effectively.
  15. Have over ten years of experience across various sectoral projects.
  16. Proven leadership in delivering medium to large-scale projects.
  17. Hold relevant academic or industry qualifications.
  18. Possess certifications such as CSCS for Managers, SMSTS, CDM/PSCS Awareness, BBS, S5 Q10 workshops, First Aid, Lifting Supervisor, and a Driving Licence.
  19. Have a degree or diploma in a construction-related subject.
