Job summary

Pearson is seeking a freelance Editorial Assessment Associate to conduct rigorous proofreading and editing of qualification materials. The role focuses on ensuring spelling, grammar, formatting and clarity meet Pearson’s standards for educational content.

You will work to strict deadlines, apply house style guidelines, and provide precise corrections using Word Track Changes. Prior experience with educational materials is desirable, with strong English, attention to detail and independence

Qualifications

• Excellent command of English including grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Strong proofreading and editing skills with high attention to detail.
• Extensive editorial experience with various publications.
• Experience following templates, instructions or house style guidelines.
• Able to meet tight and changing deadlines.
• Familiar with house style and editorial guidelines.
• Proficient with proofreading marks (BSI) and layout tasks as needed.
• Capable of accurate, independent work preserving meaning and content.
• Desirable experience proofreading educational materials and knowledge of technical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, consistency and clarity.
• Check content against provided instructions and house style.
• Flag errors and suggest appropriate corrections.
• Apply corrections using standard proofreading marks and Track Changes in Word.
• Support production of high-quality educational materials used by learners and educators.
