Fawkes & Reece London seeks an experienced Concrete Quality Inspector / Concrete Engineer for a major South Wales project. The role focuses on reinforced-concrete quality assurance, inspection during construction and ensuring adherence to structural drawings and ITPs.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with reinforced concrete, is able to identify defects, manage non-conformances, and work autonomously on site.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive practical experience in reinforced-concrete construction and quality inspection.
• Strong ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications and ITPs.
• Proven experience identifying defects, managing non-conformances and maintaining quality records.
• Experience on complex construction projects for main contractors, specialist concrete contractors or engineering consultancies.
• Autonomous worker with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to challenge non-compliant work.
• Availability for a freelance assignment in Cardiff.

Aufgaben

• Undertake detailed inspections of reinforced-concrete works before, during and after concrete placement, per scope.
• Inspect reinforcement installations: bar sizes, spacing, laps, anchorage, couplers, cover and drawings.
• Read, interpret and apply specifications, drawings, ITPs and quality documentation.
• Inspect formwork, embedded items, cast-in components and joints affecting concrete quality.
• Monitor concrete placement, compaction, finishing, curing and protection.
• Check compliance with concrete grades, testing and acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document and report defects, resolve non-conformances with corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records, photos, quality reports and documentation.
• Liaise with site management, engineers and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure works comply with project specs, drawings and standards.
