Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London seeks an experienced Concrete Quality Inspector/Engineer to support a major Cardiff construction project. The role demands hands-on reinforcement inspection, control of concrete placement and strict adherence to drawings, specifications and ITPs.

You will work on site, autonomously identify defects, document non-conformances and drive corrective actions, ensuring compliance with high standards for a large indoor venue.

Qualifications

• Extensive practical experience with reinforced-concrete construction and QA/QC on site.
• Strong ability to read and apply structural drawings, specs and ITPs.
• Proven track record identifying defects and managing non-conformances.

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed inspections of reinforced-concrete works before, during and after placement.
• Inspect reinforcement installations, bar sizes, spacing, laps and cover.
• Read, interpret and apply drawings, specs and ITPs.
• Inspect formwork, cast-in components and joints affecting concrete quality.
• Monitor concrete placement, finishing, curing and protection.
• Check compliance with specified concrete grades and testing requirements.
• Document defects and non-conformances; drive corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with site management, engineers and subcontractors to resolve issues.
• Ensure works comply with project specs and standards.
