AM Building Surveyors Property Consultancy is seeking an experienced freelance residential surveyor to form a long-term working relationship in Leeds and surrounding areas. The role offers completely flexible hours and workload, with potential for regular long-term work.

You will perform RICS Home Survey Level 2 and Level 3 inspections across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, and wider West Yorkshire, delivering clear reports and detailed inspection notes.

Qualifications

• MRICS, FRICS or AssocRICS with proven home survey experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction and building pathology.
• Experience inspecting traditional, altered and extended properties.
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
• Own vehicle, laptop and inspection equipment.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Undertake residential property inspections per RICS Home Survey Standard.
• Prepare Level 2 and Level 3 reports using templates.
• Provide photographs and inspection notes.
• Identify defects, risks and further investigations.
• Submit reports within agreed turnaround period.
• Provide post-survey clarification when required.
• Maintain a professional approach with clients, vendors and estate agents.

Contract:Self-employed/freelance

Hours:Completely flexible

Potential earnings:Up to £300£400 per day

We are an independent chartered surveying practice based in Leeds. Due to increasing demand, we are looking to develop a long-term working relationship with an experienced freelance residential building surveyor, whether seeking a regular full-time workload or flexible additional instructions.

The opportunity can be tailored to suit your availability. A consistent volume of work may be available for someone wishing to work on a full-time basis, while surveyors seeking fewer instructions can choose the days they work and the number of surveys they accept. There are no fixed working hours or compulsory working days.

The Role:

You will undertake RICS Home Survey Level 2 and Level 3 inspections across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Harrogate, Huddersfield and the wider West Yorkshire area.

Responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking residential property inspections in accordance with the RICS Home Survey Standard
• Preparing clear and comprehensive Level 2 and Level 3 reports using our established templates
• Providing detailed photographs and inspection notes
• Identifying significant defects, risks and appropriate further investigations
• Submitting completed draft reports within the agreed turnaround period
• Providing occasional post-survey clarification where required
• Maintaining a professional approach when dealing with clients, vendors and estate agents

No mortgage valuations, sales targets or business-development work are required.
