Job Description

Franchise Training Coach - London Operations - Franchise Training Coach

Contract: Full Time

Salary: 35,000

Contracted Hours: 45

We burst onto the restaurant scene in 1997, when we shook up London and showed the UK a new way of eating. Part of this was the 'kaiten' conveyor belt and colour-coded dishes which made our name.

We're all about fresh, flavoursome, authentic Japanese food. Sushi is what we're famous for, but we also have a mouth-watering range of hot street food available - from traditional classics to innovative fusion dishes. All packed with rich, aromatic flavours and umami. Fast forward to today and we have over 70 restaurants all over the globe, more than 300 kiosks in the UK, with grocery products and pre-pack sushi in most major UK supermarkets.

Overview of the role:

The Franchisee Coach is pivotal in ensuring the quality and safety of food products across our franchised kiosks. This role provides proactive and requested support to Franchisees, with a focus on enhancing their sushi-making capabilities and other product-related activities. The Franchisee Coach works closely with the Operations Team, deploying to sites where food quality or safety standards need improvement and assisting Franchisees in building the necessary skills to operate successful fresh food counters.

3 Best Things about the job:

  1. Travel to various locations across the UK and meet new people.
  2. Share your passion and expertise in sushi and other Asian-inspired foods.
  3. Make a positive impact on the performance and reputation of our brand.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Conduct assessments of franchised kiosks to identify areas for improvement in food quality and safety.
  2. Provide on-site coaching and training to Franchisees and their teams on sushi preparation, knife skills, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  3. Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of training interventions.
  4. Offer feedback and recommendations to the Head of Openings and Franchisee Support on the development needs of Franchisees.
  5. Gather workable feedback and data from franchisees that will be used to enhance and update training materials, ensuring they reflect best practices.
  6. Maintain accurate records of training activities and outcomes.
  7. Collaborate with other Franchisee Coaches and the Operations Team to share best practices and insights.
  8. Support the induction and orientation of new Franchisees and their teams.
  9. Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in sushi and Asian-inspired foods.
  10. Uphold and promote the values and vision of our brand.

What you’ll need:

  1. Previous experience in sushi making, knife skills, food quality, and food safety.
  2. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
  3. Flexibility to travel across the UK, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure.
