Job summary

MarcoPolo Learning is seeking a hands-on Fractional Financial Controller to own the day-to-day finance function across US and UK entities on a fractional basis. You will manage transactional bookkeeping through month-end close, reporting, and compliance, coordinating with the CEO and senior leadership.

The role requires experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments, strong Xero skills, and familiarity with UK VAT, payroll, and ARR reporting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on finance leader who has run full finance cycle in small business or startup.
• Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency setups (US/UK).
• UK VAT, payroll, month-end, statutory reporting familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day finance for US/UK entities as a single operation.
• Run transactional processing in Xero: AP, AR, bank reconciliations, expenses, journals, intercompany entries.
• Own monthly close, prepare management accounts, support board/investor reporting.
• Act as finance contact with stakeholders, investors, external advisors.
