Job summary

Tain is seeking a Financial Controller to manage day-to-day financial operations in a growing technology company. This role allows for flexible working and is primarily home-based, requiring occasional travel to London and Cambridge. The successful candidate will work directly with the CEO and Fractional CFO, ensuring accurate financial management across multiple entities.

The ideal applicant should be a qualified accountant with a strong background in multi-entity accounting and experience with Xero. A salary between £50,000 and £60,000 is offered, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in a financial controller or senior finance role.
• Proven experience using Xero as an accounting platform.
• Strong command of multi-entity group accounting.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping across SCL.
• Preparation of timely monthly consolidated management accounts.
• Producing regular management information including P&L and cash flow.

Skills

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Minimum two years’ post-qualification experience

Experience working with Xero

Strong knowledge of multi-entity group accounting

Excellent attention to detail

Strong communication skills
