Job summary

Arm is seeking a Hardware Technician to build, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot FPGA prototyping systems across Cambridge, Harlow and Redhill labs and data centres. The role involves regular travel between Arm sites in the region and occasional UK travel, with hands-on hardware tasks in warm, noisy data-centre environments.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with Linux CLI, basic networking, hardware handling, and will hold a UK driving licence to support site mobility.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable using Linux command line and shell.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts and physical connectivity.
  • Able to safely handle large or awkward hardware, including lifts.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Build, install, configure, and debug FPGA prototyping systems in data centres.
  • Generate and analyse system-level diagnostic and validation tests.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and infrastructure issues for engineering teams.
  • Document SOPs and drive improvements across sites.
  • Manage FPGA data centre assets, inventory, and tooling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve scalability and reliability.
