Job summary

Copello Global is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced FPGA-based solutions for UK national security and defence projects. You will design, simulate and implement FPGA firmware, optimise DSP algorithms and integrate with embedded software and hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog.
• DSP implementation experience with real-time systems.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation.
• Embedded C/C++ and/or Python for testing, automation or hardware interaction.
• Knowledge of digital communications, RF systems or related signal processing principles.
• Experience working within complex engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, simulate and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog.
• Develop and optimise real-time DSP algorithms (filters, FFTs, modulators, etc.).
• Design and support high-speed interfaces (ADC, DAC, PCIe).
• Collaborate with embedded software, hardware and systems engineers to integrate FPGA firmware.
• Support hardware bring-up, debugging and validation using lab equipment.
