Job summary

Forward Role is supporting a UK client in the National Security sector, delivering mission-critical FPGA/DSP solutions that help keep the nation safe.

You will design, simulate, and implement FPGA logic (VHDL/Verilog), optimise real-time DSP algorithms, and interface with embedded software and PCB teams.

Qualifications

• Proven FPGA design experience (VHDL or Verilog).
• Proven DSP algorithm implementation experience.
• Strong MATLAB and Simulink skills.
• Embedded C/C++ or Python for testing and automation.
• Understanding of digital communication theory and RF principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, synthesize and implement FPGA digital logic.
• Develop, simulate and optimise real-time DSP algorithms (FIR/IIR filters, FFTs, I/Q demodulation, mixers).
• Create and manage high-speed digital interfaces (ADC, DAC, PCIe).
• Work with embedded software, PCB design and systems engineering teams to integrate firmware into the final product.
• Validate designs in the lab using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and signal generators.
