Job summary

A leading defence organization is seeking an FPGA Lead Designer for a full-time permanent role in Stevenage. The successful candidate will lead a talented engineering team, manage multiple technical projects, and deliver complex FPGA architectures. Ideal applicants will possess a relevant engineering degree and have extensive experience with VHDL, Simulink, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring individuals in a technical setting.
• Proficiency in VHDL, low-level C programming, and complex FPGA architecture generation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers on projects ensuring deadlines are met.
• Produce software for testing and embedded systems integration.
• Generate high-quality design documentation.

We are currently working closely with a leading defence organisation who are looking for an FPGA Lead Designer join the team. This is a full-time permanent position based on-site (hybrid).

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead a team of talented engineers.
• Take technical lead on complex projects to ensure deliverables are met against provided deadlines.
• Produce low-level software to facilitate testing and integration within embedded systems.
• Produce document designs to a high standard.

The Successful candidate will have:

• Electrical/Electronics Engineering Degree BSc / BEng / HND qualification or relevant experience.
• Experience mentoring and leading teams.
• Experience with VHDL, Simulink, Xilinx, ModelSim and more.
• Experience with generating complex FPGA architectures.
• Experienced with stakeholder management at multiple levels.
• Able to manage multiple technical projects at any given time.
• Proficient with low-level software (C).
