Job summary

Covnetics is looking for a Design Consultant to join our dynamic UK design team. You will contribute across the full FPGA/RTL design cycle, from requirements to verification, synthesis and timing analysis, with exposure to leading FPGA technologies.

You will work alongside senior engineers and system architects to define architectures, convert them to RTL, and ensure power and performance targets are met within hardware platforms. Experience with UVM/OSVVM would be useful in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in FPGA/ASIC RTL design across the full design cycle.
• Ability to translate architectures into RTL while considering area, speed and power.
• Verification of RTL at module and top levels is required.
• Exposure to UVM/OSVVM would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and specify an FPGA solution broken into work packages.
• Define module level architectures and document design specifications.
• Convert architectures into RTL with attention to constraints.
• Verify RTL at module and top level and perform synthesis and timing analysis.
• Conduct power and performance analysis and integrate FPGAs into target hardware.

This is an opportunity to join an established proven FPGA and ASIC RTL design services consultancy set up for the purpose of supporting UK and European OEMs. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic design team working through the entire design cycle from definition and specification, design, implementation and verification; the job will include exposure to all leading vendor FPGA technologies and Tier 1 development processes.

A role of a Design Consultant will involve working alongside Senior Engineers and System Architects and you will be responsible for:

Analysing requirements, specifying and documenting an FPGA solution and breaking it down into manageable work packages.

Defining module level architectures, documenting detail into design specifications.

Converting architectures into RTL whilst considering constraints such as area, speed, power and performance.

Verification of the RTL at module level and top level.

Synthesis and timing analysis.

Power and performance analysis.

Integration of FPGAs into a target hardware platform.

Experience of any UVM/OSVVM would be useful.
