The Finance function at Everest is expanding to build a credible foundation to support significant growth of the International Insurance business.
Reporting to the Europe Retail Head of FP&A, and a business partner to the Head of UK & Ireland Retail, the UK & Ireland Retail FP&A Analyst will play a key role in assisting to deliver the full underwriting P&L for the business, as well as the underlying products. You will support the annual planning and forecasting cycle as well as the close process, whilst helping to implement and maintain scalable analysis to support business growth, driving efficiency and automation.
Key areas of focus will be establishing and building the reporting and analytics for the new regional initiative, working on multinational capability, and aligning with the Continental Europe reporting and analytics for consistency across the Europe Retail business.
You will be systems, process, and data focused enabling you continually developing MI to improve forecasting, planning, and actuals variance analysis.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting the delivery of the plan, forecast, and close processes for the full underwriting P&L.
Developing management reporting and analysis for both regional and London businesses.
Partnering with cost centre owners to proactively manage operating expenses.
Identifying variances against plan and forecast, ensuring they are investigated, understood, and resolved where necessary.
Generating variance analysis reports, and supporting efforts to develop robust financial performance modelling.
Escalating any financial issues to management and other required stakeholders.
Setting and monitoring KPIs and business objectives, whilst helping to recommend and deploy strategies for improving underwriting results.
Developing MI and commentary for management by country, product, and function.
Supporting the business to understand the financial implications of their decisions, and drive both strategic and tactical thinking.
Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. In particular, supporting the Head of UK & Ireland Retail, the Regional Executive team, Regional Underwriting teams, and the International Finance team.
Professional Qualifications, Education, and Experience
You must have:
A professional accounting qualification is required.
Experience of financial planning and analysis in an insurance organisation.
Experience of the company market, as well as a good understanding of domestic retail business
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
Ability to multitask and operate efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Proven analytical, problem solving, and technical skills.
Effective stakeholder management and business partnering skills to effectively execute plans and implement strategies.
Effective negotiation skills with the ability to find “win-win” solutions.
Self-starter, capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
Exemplary interpersonal skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to understand and ensure compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls.
