Ellison Institute Of Technology in Oxford, England, is building a Life AI Platform and seeks a Software Engineer to own the system architecture from model endpoints to the interface. You will initially contribute as an individual and become the technical anchor for how AI models reach scientists in the institute.

You will design and ship prototypes, learn from pilots, and help shape the product roadmap in a new category where the most impactful problems remain unsolved.

Qualifications

• Built and shipped systems from scratch as a core engineer and independent contributor.
• Designed production-ready APIs, data models, testing, deployment, observability and failure recovery.
• Experience with agentic AI products, not just usage, and with evaluation and human-in-the-loop processes.

Responsabilités

• Build an agentic workflow for scientists end to end, from model endpoints to the user interface.
• Operate the technical foundations for agentic systems: orchestration, tool interfaces, state management, observability and failure recovery.
• Design evaluative frameworks to understand if deployed models are working.
• Collaborate with scientists to translate needs into engineering priorities.
• Synthesize knowledge from workflows to build generalisable capabilities.
• Partner with product, data and research to shape the roadmap and ship quickly in an emerging category.
