Job summary

Gloucestershire Academy for Inspirational Learning invites applications for a SEND PE Teacher to join the founding team at GAIL Academy. The post involves delivering high-quality Physical Education and PPA across all key stages to pupils with MALD, including autistic pupils and SEMH needs.

The successful candidate will be PE-trained, and committed to inclusive, engaging learning experiences for every pupil.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND and/or autism.
• Proven ability to engage learners and drive progress.
• Strong understanding of assessment and tracking systems.
• Knowledge of autism support strategies and interventions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging PE lessons meeting diverse learning needs.
• Support autistic pupils through specialist teaching strategies and interventions.
• Assess, monitor and track pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes.
• Collaborate with support staff, SENCO, therapists and families.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can succeed.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and communication development.
• Participate in wider school life, meetings, activities and events.
• Maintain accurate records including attendance, behaviour and progress.
