Job summary

Searchability® in London is seeking a highly capable Rust Engineer with a Founding Engineer mindset to own products end-to-end. You’ll work across product, backend, infrastructure and data, moving between frontend when needed, and influence technology direction from architecture to production.

Salary is up to £130,000 with bonus and a permanent, hybrid London role. You’ll collaborate closely with the founding team to ship production systems and define engineering standards as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial software engineering experience with Rust and evidence of building and shipping production systems.
• Experience in early-stage businesses, autonomy, and greenfield products.
• Ability to move across product, backend, infrastructure and data as needed.
• Frontend experience with React/TypeScript is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Build and own production systems primarily in Rust.
• Take products end-to-end from concept through to production.
• Work across product, backend, infrastructure and data.
• Design high-performance, reliable and scalable services.
• Build and optimise APIs, databases and data-intensive systems.
• Contribute to architecture and infrastructure decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate problems into technical solutions.
• Contribute across the stack including frontend when required.
• Help establish engineering standards and direction as the team scales.
• Take genuine ownership of problems across the stack.
