Job summary

Oliver Bernard is seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team in London. You will work on technically challenging, high-impact systems where performance and correctness matter.

You'll own projects end-to-end, design and optimize high-performance Rust code, and mentor peers while helping shape engineering direction in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Working pattern: 4 days in the office, 1 day WFH, with modern engineering practices and a strong emphasis on

We’re looking for Senior Rust Engineers to join a high-performing engineering team working on technically challenging, high-impact systems.

This is an opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving hard problems, working close to the metal, and building software where performance, reliability and correctness genuinely matter.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and build high-performance systems in Rust
• Own projects end-to-end, from architecture and technical design through to production
• Solve complex problems across performance, concurrency, distributed systems and reliability
• Work closely with other senior engineers to establish technical direction
• Profile, benchmark and optimise systems at scale
• Contribute to engineering standards, architecture and best practices
• Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar across the team

What we’re looking for

• Strong professional experience with Rust
• Excellent fundamentals in systems programming and software engineering
• Deep understanding of concurrency, memory management and performance
• Experience building and operating production systems at scale
• Strong knowledge of Linux and modern development tooling
• Ability to reason about complex technical problems and make pragmatic engineering decisions
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach

Experience with distributed systems, networking, low-latency systems, databases, infrastructure or high-performance computing would be particularly valuable.
