Job summary

Dayjob.AI is hiring a founding Forward Deployed Engineer to deploy AI-driven optimization for fleets in the UK. You will work directly with founders, sales, and customers to integrate existing systems, tune the model to real-world operations, and ensure successful go-lives on-site.

You will own technical success for UK deployments, with travel to US sites as needed, and build useful fleet-performance reports. The role blends software and field operations to shape Dayjob’s product and expansion.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a technical, customer-facing role (forward deployed / solutions / integration / implementation engineering or similar).
• Strong SQL - write queries against a non-trivial schema and read results critically.
• Experience integrating legacy ERP-style platforms with imperfect data (APIs, file-based pipelines, data mapping).

Responsibilities

• Own the optimisation model settings for customers—speed factors, service times, depot and tip times, zones, vehicle types, and time-window constraints—and validate against real GPS and job data.
• Support sales by setting up and tuning the model for demos, trials, and proofs of concept.
• Integrate customers’ legacy ERP, job-management systems, and vehicle telematics with Dayjob on-site.
• Act as first-line technical support during go-live: triage issues, diagnose data vs. settings vs. platform problems, escalate as needed.
• Gather customer requirements and translate them into clear input for product and engineering.
• Write SQL and build fleet performance reports (e.g., in Metabase) on metrics like jobs-per-hour and plan quality.
