Catapult is seeking a Founding Engineer in London to solve tough algorithmic problems, manage the entire tech stack, and build products end-to-end. You will design and deploy highly performant desktop applications, both frontend and backend, and craft complex data systems for ingestion and processing at scale.

You should be a fast learner with strong problem solving, ready to own projects from research to production, and willing to take on ambitious, open-ended challenges in a startup

Qualifications

• 5+ years solving challenging projects with strong problem-solving ability.
• Proven ability to design and develop complex backend systems.
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, Rust/C++, and cloud infra.
• Experience with Kubernetes and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product development from backend to UI/UX.
• Build and scale computationally heavy backend systems.
• Architect and implement data ingestion/processing pipelines.
