X4 Technology is building next-generation autonomous aerial systems. We are seeking a Founding Embedded Software & Robotics Engineer to help shape the core intelligence of our platform.

You'll own hands-on work at the intersection of embedded software, robotics, and hardware integration on a highly integrated VTOL platform. Join early and influence technical direction, architecture, and engineering culture from day one.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded software development for real hardware systems.
• Experience with Linux-based embedded devices and debugging.
• Strong systems integration across electronics, sensors, compute modules and comms interfaces.
• Familiarity with CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing robust embedded software for autonomous robotic systems.
• Integrating and debugging sensors, microcontrollers, companion computers, and onboard communications hardware.
• Working directly with Linux-based embedded devices using SSH and low-level debugging tools.
• Supporting system bring-up, testing, validation, and field integration.
• Developing reliable interfaces across CAN, I2C, UART, and SPI.
• Collaborating closely with a small, fast-moving engineering team to rapidly iterate and solve complex technical challenges.
• Contributing across the full development lifecycle - from prototype to deployed hardware.
