Job summary

Bedrock Ocean Exploration seeks a Staff Robotics Engineer to own the architecture of autonomy and the vehicle software suite for a growing fleet of autonomous underwater vehicles. You will set the technical direction across GNC, sensing, hardware, and mission autonomy, ensuring robust software for long, continuous ocean campaigns.

You will collaborate across disciplines, champion practical AI adoption, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building robotics or autonomous-systems software in production environments.
• Experience architecting robust, modular vehicle software with scalable interfaces.
• Strong programming skills in C++/Python and hands-on ROS/ROS2 engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the vehicle software system and drive modular design across subsystems.
• Lead cross-disciplinary robotics problems end to end and anticipate future missions.
• Set standards for building, testing, and validating vehicle software with quantitative metrics.
• Drive rigorous testing across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and field trials.
