Job summary

Dex is partnering with a stealth AI startup to launch as a regulated legal service. You will own the architecture, the initial product build, and technical hiring from a clean slate, working closely with a non-technical founder and veteran lawyers to decide what to automate first and to define the MVP.

This zero-to-one builder role requires hands-on coding, practical decision-making, and the ability to recruit and shape the founding engineering team who will join after you.

Qualifications

• Track record shipping AI-native or agentic products from zero to one in a startup.
• Strong systems and software engineering judgement with experience in deep integrations (Slack, Notion, email, CRMs).
• Hands-on builder mindset, able to scope MVPs and support architectural trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build core platform from scratch for proactive triage and automation.
• Make foundational stack decisions balancing MVP speed and regulatory reliability.
• Collaborate with non-technical founder and lawyers to define MVP and automation first.
• Recruit, interview, and onboard the founding eng team and establish coding standards.
