Job summary

Founding AI Platform Engineer for a stealth energy-tech startup in London is the role. You will own three connected areas: Production AI, the developer platform, and AI-native engineering, shaping how engineers and AI agents collaborate on the codebase.

The position is on-site in London with five days in the office and requires strong production judgment and ownership. The stack includes Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Temporal and LLM tooling.

Responsibilities

• Production AI - agent architecture, context engineering, retrieval, tool use, citations, evaluation, tracing, reliability and cost.
• Developer platform — the development stack, repository architecture, local, staging and production workflows, testing, CI/CD, observability and deployments.
• AI-native engineering — the rules, skills, context, guardrails and automation that allow coding agents to work safely and effectively across the codebase.
