Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Foundation Lecturer in London is a permanent role starting September 2026. You will plan, deliver and assess Foundation Studies, focusing on Access to FE, and prepare learners for Functional Skills and portfolio qualifications.

You will adapt teaching to a wide range of abilities, track learner progress, and work with Learning Support Assistants to support progression into further education or employment.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Foundation Studies or Access to FE programmes.
• Experience integrating Functional Skills into curriculum delivery.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learner abilities and needs.
• Experience working alongside Learning Support Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Planning, delivering and assessing teaching across Foundation Studies.
• Teaching and integrating Functional Skills into the curriculum.
• Supporting learners to develop independence, employability and work-related skills.
• Preparing learners for Functional Skills examinations and portfolio qualifications.
• Adapting teaching to meet a wide range of abilities and individual needs.
• Working effectively with Learning Support Assistants within the classroom.
• Tracking learner progress, achievement, attendance and retention.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
• Supporting learners with progression into further education, employment or training.
