Job summary

As a locum, you will shape services for children and young people, supervise a team of social workers and allied staff, and ensure high-quality practice. This position combines professional impact with flexible scheduling and the chance to work across agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and managing a social work team.
• Ability to supervise and mentor staff and ensure statutory services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of social workers and allied staff to deliver statutory services for children and young people.
• Set direction and standards for practice; supervise, mentor, and support social work staff.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and improve their life outcomes.
• Monitor and review workload and caseload management to ensure best practice is followed.
• Work in partnership with other professionals across various organisations to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.
• Implement service developments and quality improvements to meet local and national priorities.
